The main use of the bed by vampires is for sex. Vampires then set up the bed for lovemaking by making it soft enough yet still providing firm support. Each bed needs an assortment of pillows, of all shapes and sizes for leverage in certain sex positions, and a convenient place to stash their many sex toys (because you always need more than one).
The rules of sex, like the rules of love, for the vampire ensure they have fun. We humans tend to have sexual regulations to restrict the individual almost inviting for a transgression by some liberal thinker. When it comes to using a bed, the vampires have suggestions for being nice (in the vampire sense) so the sex is easy for the couple.
Start Naked
Vampire females are usually naked all the time. This is a privilege of the female because naked enhances the female factor. In the preternatural domain, the females rule in sex and dominate the exchange of sex. Males approach the bed when nude and so obtain sexual equality with the females. The bad boy is obliged to undress, and bare all before he gets into bed, even if he has no intention for sex. To the vampires, nudity is power and they encourage the sharing of naked powers.
But if their lover (usually a shy human) hesitates, the vampires have a cure for the clothed unadventurous. They begin with a kiss to the lips, work down the neck, and when relaxed, the vampire helps you undress. The process is slow and gentle (there’s no rush), the idea being to kiss every exposed portion of flesh. Vampire are not interested in getting the sex over and done with quickly, they’re only impatient to start.
Girl on Top
This is a simple rule extending from the female control of sex. Vampire females ask for sex and usually want sex. The male can ask but he invites a female into his embrace, and because she’s on top, he can make any suggestion for fun sex. The females approach the male by crawling over the bed to him, giving him the caresses to ask for sex. This fondling is not part of the foreplay but confirms his interest in sex. When in bed, the vampires consider it best for the pair to couple in vampire comfort before deciding the sex they intend to share.
Vampire sex is not limited to one sexual position, and they comfort in all orientations because the male has conscious control of his erection. The asking of sex after they have physically joined is a vampire choice in bed because it means any sexual intercourse is not delayed. Because of the vampire practice of comfort, vampires do not recognize foreplay as we know it. Vampire kissing techniques allow for the vampires to stay together so they will remain embraced in this way for as long as necessary.
Expressions without End
Bed boredom is a true bane in any sex life. The problem might arise from personal taboos, uncertainty, or general reasoning that sex must stay “proper.” To a vampire, proper sex is a form of required sex, not a restriction on how much fun to have together. In the bed, when engaged in fun sex, there are no rules to say—this sexual posture is not allowed. In fact there are no rules preventing vampires from having a good time and fulfilling their need of pleasure sensations. When girls can play boys, and boys can physically play girls, the combinations of sexual pleasure are greatly increased. The bed is then set up so no orientation is impossible to achieve.
Respect Others
We have a bed, and it’s kept in our bedroom, for our use, and for us only. It’s alarming to find a stranger in our bed (just ask the Three Bears about Goldilocks). But it’s verging on an act of war to find a couple hard at it, and they’re doing it between our sheets! Vampires have their own beds but it not unusual in a collective to have couples using any bed. In a collective, all the beds are equal, and especially so after the vampires purify the bedsheets.
In my novel, making all beds equal is a problem for my heroine, Marie. She sees her bed as out of bounds—no debate—and her vampire lover’s bed as a special place to make love. She’s not interested in the female vampire’s need to share the space on every bed, including hers.
So what do vampires do if they walk into their room and find another couple using their bed for sex? The rule is ignore them. Vampire beds are large enough for several couples at once, so vampires don’t care what others are doing, they just find a space and start their own sex. Do vampires watch? Only if they want to learn, because they see what you’re doing is so different and interesting, and they want to know how to do it themselves.
Creating a Storm
Psychic sex is preferably restricted to the bed. Losing too much supernatural power at orgasm is an occupational hazard with vampires so they keep the really energetic sex to a horizontal orientation in the safety of their beds. In sex just for fun, serious sex, and most cases of lust, psychic energy is radiated from the couple and lost to the universe. Well, the couple no longer have the energy but their sexual activity affects the weather. Weather control might not be their intention but even vampires consider a little rain and sex to be romantic.
Fangs Please
The feeding ritual is not the only time vampire use their fangs. These sharp teeth are erogenous zones, erotically tuned to enhance the sexual response. The function of fangs in sex increases intimacy between two vampires. Romance is a thing shared in bed. The bed is a place to culture love so anything to promote loving feelings is preferably a bed activity. Vampires don’t need sofas or tables to clutter their lives, after all they don’t entertain, or have interests other than sex. While it is the free will of a vampire to bite where they want to bite, the convenience of a bed makes the sex of the bite so much more pleasurable.
Talking of fangs, I think it’s about time I revisited these marvels of vampire anatomy. Next time is more bite in your life.
